Despite their names, Magna Cleansing and power flushing are not the latest beauty trends. They are, however, cutting edge when it comes to heating systems. If you like the sound of protecting your boiler and making a tidy saving on your heating bills, read on!
Power flushing is the act of cleansing the inside of your heating system, using a combination of chemicals. As a result, it must only ever be undertaken by a qualified professional.
As standard, this should be performed when any new boiler, or heating system is installed. However, it can also be extremely beneficial in more established heating systems. Over time debris builds up inside pipework and can cause blockages, resulting in:
A power flush, when performed by a fully qualified engineer, removes muck build-up and can give your heating system a new lease of life. Talk to us today about whether a power flush is right for your home.
A MagnaCleanse is basically a power flush on steroids. A state-of-the-art process, it’s designed to remove potentially damaging iron oxide from the inside of your heating system and, crucially, prevent it from coming back – with the help of a Magna Filter.
This iron oxide build up, sometimes referred to as ‘sludge’, can be harmful to the inner workings of your boiler and wider heating system. The majority of us won’t give the internal mysteries of our heating system a second thought, providing they’re generating hot water and warm air when we need them. However, over time, sludge builds up in pipes, radiators and other mechanisms to create what can be a costly mess.
A MagnaCleanse can be performed in conjunction with any pressurised heating system and is improved, in both speed of process and efficiency, by the addition of a Magna Filter.
Giving your heating system a good blow-out is all well and good, but iron oxide is like mould – it’ll only come back again unless you have measures in place to prevent it. This is where the Magna Filter comes in. Installed just before the cleanse itself is performed, the filter acts to speed up the cleansing process and crucially, provides lifelong protection from sludge build-up.
Clearly, heating systems work better without blockages. When our boilers don’t have to work as hard, the bills come down. It’s as simple as that. In fact, the whole process can save you up to 6% on your ongoing energy bills.
